University of Texas MBA and Graduation Day

This past Friday, May 20, 2011 we attended Rod's graduation from UT! He graduated with honors (an impressive feat while juggling a full time job and full time family) He worked hard, and was committed to really experiencing and learning the program. His mom and her husband came for the ceremony and we were so happy that they did. It made the celebration complete!

Something neat about this ceremony was that they allowed the graduates to sit with their friends, and so they got to walk and sit together instead of in alphabetical order. Pretty neat. I wish that I had been able to capture more pictures, the kids were so cute in their matching UT clothing. Unfortunately the moment we stepped out of the building we were greeted with pools of water and severe thunderstorms. We literally ran to the van through giant puddles, tons of people, and insane rain. I was grateful for our stroller to buffer a little with the kids. I didn't bring an Umbrella because Houston has been in a very large drought. We were soaked to the bone! It was a pretty exciting night. We were so grateful to have some of Rod's family to share it with. The kids really loved having Grandma and Grandpa here to visit (and so did we!) When they left this morning Caily cried for awhile about it.

For Rod this weekend was a mark of achievement, and end of a memorable experience with the joy of accomplishment and the excitement of a new job accompanied by the sadness of leaving friends and more. For our family, the end of a season, and the start of a new. How nice it will be for us to have him back!

(Its a little bit of a shame that he still has to go to 5 more weeks of class!)

Congratulations to our favorite MBA man in the house!

*Most of these pictures were taken by our friend Dianne Eldridge. Thanks Dianne!*
