Port Bolivar

Labor Day has now come and gone. Can you believe it!? We were so grateful for this weekend. Mostly because it meant Rod was home from business trips and work, and put aside homework just for us. My only regret is that it did not last longer! We filled our time doing projects that have desperately needed attention around the house. (Like putting shelves in our Refrigerator--hallelujah what a difference it makes!) We enjoyed some quiet time on Sunday afternoon, and then on Labor day we drove down to Galveston to take the Ferry to Port Bolivar. With hopes of lunch and the beach on the peninsula.

The ferry ride was short, but sweet--all because of one thing...DOLPHINS. swimming in the ocean by our boat. Believe it! Unfortunately Bolivar was ummm...sparse with little to do and def. no pretty beaches. So we turned around and came home.

I commented to Rod that the ferry here is not nearly as beautiful as Seattle. Still fun, but not the same breathtaking views, crystal clear water, green lush islands and giant Orca whales. When we were first in Seattle we camped the San Juan Islands and went Orca Whale Watching. One of my favorite Seattle memories.

Then again...Bolivar did give me dolphins, and they were beautiful.
