Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving this year was a sweet one.  We hosted it at our house, and had Uncle Philip, Aunt Marissa and Conner as house guests.  When it came time for dinner we had the entire Harris family all together to celebrate.  Grandma brought the Turkey and  with Philip and Marissa's help I cooked and slaved over the meal and it was beautiful, and over too fast.

The children had fun decorating the tablecloth. I found it at Target and knew that they would absolutely love it! Turns out that everyone enjoyed coloring and playing the games on it.  For the first year ever we opened up the kids table. This year it housed only Caily and Grayson, but someday in the near future Oliver and Conner will have seats there as well.

The kids loved having all the family around, and I am reminded that quirks, differences, distance and all we are still a family.   After dinner, we browsed black Friday ads and watched some Christmas cartoons with the little ones.  This was the first year that stores opened "black Friday" sales on Thanksgiving day.  We were all saddened by this, as we enjoy shopping early morning black Friday sales but it seemed to be trying to squish out Thanksgiving altogether.
