Superman attacks his first TRIATHLON

Go baby go!
For 3 months Rod has been biking, swimming, running and sweating in preparation for his first Triathlon. Yesterday that day came! He had such a great time training with his friends and getting in shape. Those that know Rod, know that he is an extremely dedicated person. When he sets himself to do something, he works endlessly to see it happen. This included waking up sometimes at 5:30 in the a.m. to get to training so that it didn't interfere with our family time-or his study time.

We are SO proud of him. Here he is: (pictures courtesy of Mana Vautier who would have been running if his baby boy hadn't decided to join the world 1 day before the race)

At the bike-run transition

At the finish line. Thanks to #691 who ran the last 1.5 miles with Rod and pushed him to keep running when he desperately wanted to walk.
Time: 1 hour 45 Minutes 24 seconds

Cooling down after the race. This is about 10 minutes post finish, 5 minutes post lying on the ground hoping the world will stop spinning.

Showing off the post-race muscles, or pooping, one or the other.
Friends that Rod ran and trained with. (Rod, Tom Booth, Lincoln Sarager, Mike Tricarico)

Way to go Rod! Let's just say, this is RAD!

HAHA. Bet you never heard that joke.
It's funny because for a while Lincoln thought that was your name!

Yea, Rod!!!

Mike Tricarico? There's a Shari Tricarico in my ward. It's not a super common name...I wonder if they're related??
